Titular professorship for PD Dr Christopher Böhlke - an extraordinary milestone
PD Dr Christopher Böhlke, senior physician at Bethesda Hospital's Palliative Care Centre, has been appointed titular professor by the University of Basel's Faculty of Medicine.
This honour is a significant milestone - particularly in palliative care, where professorships are rare. It is all the more remarkable that this appointment was made at a peripheral hospital.
With Prof Dr Jan Gärtner and Prof Dr Christopher Böhlke, two professors of palliative care are working at the same hospital - a unique constellation in Switzerland. Both also work together in a growing team in the Palliative Care Research Group at the Department of Clinical Research and co-operate closely with the Swiss Go Trial Group in conducting clinical trials at the University Hospital Basel.
We warmly congratulate Prof Böhlke on this special recognition of his many years of commitment to medicine, research and teaching.
