In our emergency department, we are available to your patients for women's medicine (gynaecology) and obstetrics around the clock, 365 days a year, without prior appointment.for musculoskeletal emergencies, we are available for your patients every day from 8.00 am to 10.00 pm and guarantee immediate specialist treatment - no prior appointment is necessary.
Important to know: Between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m., we only treat emergencies in gynaecology and obstetrics. Emergencies are prioritised so that life-threatening situations receive immediate attention.

Die Generalversammlung der Bethesda Spital AG hat Dr. med. Rakesh Padiyath zum neuen Verwaltungsratspräsidenten gewählt. Dr. med. Padiyath, welcher bereits seit längerem dem Verwaltungsrat angehört, übernimmt das Präsidium nach dem Weggang von Dr. Werner Kübler.
Neubesetzung des Verwaltungsrats
Mit der Wahl von Dr. med. Rakesh Padiyath zum Direktor des Universitätsspitals Basel wurde eine Neuorganisation des Verwaltungsrats der Bethesda Spital AG notwendig. Die Generalversammlung bestätigte für eine Amtszeit von einem Jahr folgende Zusammensetzung:

Mit Prof. Dr. med. Daniel Staub, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) des Universitätsspitals Basel, gewinnt der Verwaltungsrat ein weiteres neues Mitglied mit ausgewiesener medizinischer und strategischer Expertise. Diese Besetzung unterstreicht die enge Verbindung zwischen der Bethesda Spital AG und dem Universitätsspital Basel.
Kontinuität und Weiterentwicklung
Die Wahl von Dr. med. Rakesh Padiyath zum Präsidenten gewährleistet Kontinuität in der strategischen Führung der Bethesda Spital AG. Als bisheriges Verwaltungsratsmitglied und Direktor des Universitätsspitals Basel bringt er sowohl interne Kenntnisse als auch neue Impulse für die Weiterentwicklung des Spitals mit.
Gemeinsam stark in der Anästhesiepflege: Neue Kooperation mit dem USB ab 2026
Ab dem Jahr 2026 gehen das Bethesda Spital und das Universitätsspital Basel (USB) einen wichtigen Schritt in der gemeinsamen Ausbildung: Die beiden Spitäler bieten neu zusammen den zweijährigen Nachdiplomstudiengang (NDS) Anästhesiepflege HF an. Damit erhalten angehende Pflegeexpertinnen und -experten die Möglichkeit, ihre praktischen Einsätze sowohl in einem universitätsmedizinischen Umfeld als auch in einem familiär geprägten Spital mit Privatcharakter zu absolvieren.
Ein Beruf für Menschen mit Feingefühl
Die Anästhesiepflege ist ein hochspezialisiertes Berufsfeld innerhalb der Pflege. Wer sich für diese Richtung entscheidet, begleitet Patientinnen und Patienten in besonders sensiblen Momenten – vor, während und nach operativen Eingriffen. Dabei sind nicht nur medizinisch-technisches Wissen und schnelle Reaktionsfähigkeit gefragt, sondern auch Einfühlungsvermögen und Teamgeist.
"Die Ausbildung zur Expertin oder zum Experten NDS HF Anästhesiepflege ist intensiv und anspruchsvoll, aber auch unglaublich bereichernd. Umso wertvoller ist es, wenn Studierende von der Vielfalt zweier renommierter Ausbildungsbetriebe profitieren können", sagt Maëlle Gizzi, Berufsbildungsverantwortliche im Bethesda Spital.
Zwei Spitäler, ein gemeinsames Ziel
Neu werden die Studierenden jährlich ins Ausbildungsprogramm aufgenommen. Ein Jahr ihrer Praktikumszeit verbringen sie am USB, das zweite Jahr im Bethesda Spital. Dadurch erleben sie unterschiedliche klinische Settings, lernen verschiedene Patientengruppen kennen und erweitern ihren Horizont sowohl fachlich als auch menschlich.
Am Bethesda Spital erwartet die Studierenden eine persönlich geprägte Lernumgebung mit direkter Betreuung, kurzen Wegen und einem eingespielten Team.
"Wir legen grossen Wert auf eine enge Begleitung und auf individuelle Lernziele. Gleichzeitig profitieren unsere Studierenden von der interdisziplinären Zusammenarbeit mit Ärzteteams, OP-Fachpersonen und anderen Pflegebereichen", so Gizzi weiter.

Die Nachfrage nach qualifizierten Fachpersonen in der Anästhesiepflege ist hoch. Der NDS Anästhesiepflege HF bietet nicht nur eine fundierte Weiterbildung, sondern auch ausgezeichnete Perspektiven für die berufliche Entwicklung in Spitälern, Notfallzentren oder spezialisierten Kliniken.
